Our Story
Best friends Matthew Cleek and Greg Depriest both have experience founding, developing, and leading their own businesses in the Tri-Cities. Always looking for new challenges, they decided to team up for their latest venture – SGL Express.
Greg first entered the logistics industry in 2017 when he applied to be an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. He launched his company in Austin, Texas, and his first delivery went out September 3rd, 2019. In 3 months, they went from 1 employee to over 100. In 2020, he returned to the Tri-Cities to launch his second logistics company.
Matthew’s roots are in tech as the owner/operator of Intellithought, an award-winning firm based in Kingsport, Tennessee providing IT services, web design, and custom programming since 1999.
In partnership with FedEx, SGL Express began in 2022 with a small fleet of vans, drivers, and one route. The long-term vision will involve growing the team, acquiring new routes in new states, and expanding services to include freight shipping.
